The workshop of Brittany Dances of the Youth club and arts centre of LAMBALLE is made of a section leisure (80 participants) and of a folk group "Gastadours" (25 members).
The dancers of the section leisure repeat Friday at the POTTERY near LAMBALLE.
Gastadours generally repeat in the Farandole (LAMBALLE).


In The Middle Age, Gastadours were in charge of the maintenance of the ditches of the castles. "Gastadours lamballais" were particularly famous. 

The group (25 dancers) was formed in 1999.
Musicians "KADANS", "TOURBALEUC" and "KAEL" (photographs, music) accompany it in the various services.


The dancers are equipped with the "costume of Penthièvre" (duchy of Brittany) whose Lamballe was the capital. The cap of the dancers was that of Lamballaises the days of week. The lace cap was carried Sunday or at the time of the festivals. 
The repertory of the group is composed of dances of Low and High Brittany (Penthièvre in particular)

LES GASTADOURS in BOSNIA

Gastadours, young people of the M.J.C. of Lamballe, of Scaër, Zazous, Zigopath took part with the collective "Brittany-Bosnia-Gorazdé in the Festival of the Friendship in Gorazdé of July 31 in August 12. A very strong voyage which marked all the participants.
Goals of the collective:
1 To help with the consolidation of Peace in Bosnia.
2 To break the insulation of Gorazdéens and to answer their very keen demand of contacts and exchanges.
3 To meet the need for opening in particular on the world of the young people: correspondences and projects of solidarity between schools....
4 To bring a humanitarian aid.
The FESTIVAL Of the FRIENDSHIP
The festival of Gorazdé is a cultural event organized with the moral support, logistics and financier of the Brittany-Bosnia-Gorazdé collective of Saint-Brieuc.
The Festival supports the friendship, collaboration, the tolerance so much between the people of Bosnia-Herzégovine than between those of the other countries of Europe.
The festival defends the democratic values, it allows the contacts between the cultures, meetings between the young people of Europe. Moreover, since two years, young people coming from Serb Republic take part in the Festival.
Gorazdé Town of 30 000 inhabitants to 80 km of Sarajevo in the valley of Drina.
Before the war, it was an industrial town, the rate of unemployment reaches 60 à.70% now.
From May 1992, the total blockade of the town of Gorazdé starts: more running water, of electricity, of telephone. The inhabitants (50 000) pile up in the cellars to try to avoid the bombardments.
Since the end of 1995, the treaty of Dayton guarantees the integrity of Bosnia made up of two parts. Gorazdé is insulated in Serbe zone. 
The crucial problem now is the economic revival.
